Change the Air Foundation forms new advocacy alliance with the Armed Forces Housing Advocates
Our organization is excited to announce that Change the Air Foundation has formed a new advocacy alliance with another nonprofit organization, the Armed Forces Housing Advocates (AFHA).
AFHA is a passionate group of volunteers who aim to end the substandard housing conditions for military families of every branch across the continental US, Hawaii, and Alaska. They work tirelessly to provide comprehensive, free-of-cost services that help residents navigate military housing issues, ensuring their homes are safe and habitable.
To help cultivate the newfound partnership, individuals from Change the Air and the AFHA traveled to Washington, D.C. in October 2022, to meet with staff members from various Congressional offices and advocated for the Military Housing Readiness Council Act. The bill would have created a 17-member council that would advise the Department of Defense on the best practices and policies for solving the problems seen throughout military housing across the country.
Our two organizations will continue to work together at the state level advocating for updated laws, regulations, and policies that help ensure the basic right of every person to breathe clean air in every home and building.
