Change the Air is thrilled to announce a new bill proposal that the Foundation spearheaded alongside our passionate Colorado volunteers, Jessica McQuade and Linda Kilis. If passed HB25-1202, the Mold Awareness and Registration Act, would:

  • Establish a mold information and awareness campaign through the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
  • Create a registry requiring active third-party certifications for mold remediators and mold assessors, with proof of financial liability.
  • Require all mold remediation work in the state to be followed by the IICRC’s S520 standard, at a minimum.
  • Require disclosures and a mold health brochure for residential real property sales and renters.

Change the Air is proud to have advocated alongside our passionate Colorado volunteers for this bill proposal, and we look forward to continuing its success moving ahead as it moves through the Colorado House Energy & Environment Committee and beyond. We sincerely thank State Representative Amy Paschal and State Representative Javier Mabrey for championing this game-changing legislation to make a long-term impact for all Coloradans dealing with mold and water damage, now and in the future.
